Our Club AGM was held on the 03rd of December and was immediately followed by a meeting of the new Executive Committee.  At the AGM, the new Executive Committee was confirmed with Ned Kearney continuing as Vice Chairman, Conor Brady continuing as PRO and for better or worse, I am continuing as Chairman for 2026.  We await a new Treasurer with Tom Lorton helpfully staying on until one is found.  A number of members of the Executive were also deemed elected at the AGM.   At the Executive Meeting (immediately after the AGM) Ronan Kenny was approved as the new Club Secretary, with Mags Hain (our outgoing) willing to support him as assistant Secretary/Registrar.    There are a number of positions within the Executive available and, like before, I encourage people to get involved in volunteering for your club.  The club is completely dependent on volunteers.

The AGM was also given an update on the club finances which have stabilised in 2025 but require a number of years of progress to normalise.  In light of that, and on foot of a Working Group (led by David Brady) recommendation, our membership rates will increase for 2026 and 2027.  It is notable that we are still below other local clubs and we believe we are offering excellent value for money.  Membership renewals are now live via on Clubzap.

Our final and most important fundraiser of the year is the 200 Club Draw, https://dashboard.clubzap.com/articles/163498 .  Success in this Fundraiser will mean a very significant improvement in our 2026 finances and allow us to invest in club infrastructure.  As before, on behalf of the club I ask all club members, parents, coaches, supporters, volunteers and friends to support, if you can, the 200 Club Draw by buying, part buying and/or selling a ticket.  It will make a difference.  Tickets (limited to 200) are available on Clubzap, or in the office or through Anne or Alan.  They will also be available at the Club Christmas Get Together on Friday before the first draw, which is at 9:30pm so someone (possibly you) will be €1000 richer for the weekend.

Since the AGM a lot of work has been going on.  Of note is that the Football Committee identified and recommended a Senior Team Manager (Tony Dunne) and this was approved by the Executive on 16 December with Senior players briefed on the appointment immediately afterwards.  Meath GAA has recently changed the underage age bands (reverting to u14, u16, u18 and u20) so that gives us an opportunity to consider our approach.  The Football Committee will be putting forward recommendations to the Executive for all team managements, coaches so this is another opportunity to make a difference in terms of volunteering.

We recently had a number of sponsor events with Glenveagh launched as the Club Main Sponsor and sponsor of the Senior Team in mid November.  Boliden Tara Mines were launched as the Ladies Team Sponsor and will in the new year be launched as the naming rights partner for our grounds.  Mason Wealth Management (formerly Michael Cassidy Financial) were also launched as the sponsor of our u18 and u20 Men's teams.  We will share individual details on these fantastic sponsorships and partners in the new year.

Upcoming Events
19 December      Club Christmas Get Together (8pm) and 200 Club First Draw (€1000 will be won).
17 January           Club Prize Giving (Underage teams GAA & LGFA)

My continued thanks to all those who continue to support and volunteer for the club. Enjoy the run up to Christmas.
