Simonstown 1-19
Seneschalstown 2-8
Simonstown's maintained a steady Feis Cup course with a fourth win from four games in Seneschalstown on Wednesday night.
Once again the Padraig McKeever-Sean Tobin attacking axis led the charge, posting 1-14 between them including 1-9 in the opening half as Simonstown took a commanding 1-11 to 0-3 lead at the interval.
That nine-point cushion had reduced by one by the end as momentum stalled and Seneschalstown got a better foothold.
But much of the damage was done before the first water break as the visitors established a 1-6 to 0-0 lead.
They had registered four wides before the first score landed but from then on there was fluency and McKeever was on hand to finish an enterprising move for the goal from close range.
They might have added to that goal too during a sustained spell of dominance coming up to half-time.
Seneschalstown started the second half quickly with a goal and and cut the deficit to seven points at one stage but Simonstown had it back out to 11 points again before Seneschalstown struck for a second goal.
Tobin added two more 45s to the two he scored against St Colmcille's the previous week.
Previous wins over Ratoath, Skryne and St Colmcille's have now put Simonstown at the top of Group B, two points ahead of Wolfe Tones on six.
Simonstown has never won a Feis Cup - beaten in the 1994, 2007 and 2016 finals - but this latest win pushed the team closer to a potential semi-final with Ballinabrackey next on the cards at home on Wednesday (7.45).
