Simonstown's U-13 team ensured qualification for the playoffs of the RS Awards U-13 Roinn A competition with a 4-11 to 2-8 win over Donaghmore-Ashbourne at the weekend.
It was their second win of the campaign, adding to an earlier success over Dunboyne while a draw with Ratoath ensured that they currently sit third in the group.
With Dunboyne and Trim yet to play their final game, their semi-final opponents are not yet known.
The team led from the start and were never headed by opponents who, it must be acknowledged, were depleted.
The goals came from Max Condon and Will Byrne with two each to put the game beyond doubt while the bench was emptied to show some strength in depth that contributed to getting the team over the line.
The semi-final is expected to take place on the weekend after next.
